2001 cl500 sunroof wont close

hello all, my sunroof never would slide open but would always pop up and down, now when i try to close it it pops back up as soon as its almost closed. the only way to get it any way near closed is to switch the ignition off just as its almost closed.
anyideas guys?thanksmike
