I've just suffered almost total brake failure in my w112 e320 avantgarde. I was pulling into halfords car park in bletchley, I went for the brakes and the pedal went straight to the floor and the car hardly stopped. I had 2 red warnings on the dash 1. Low brake effect stop the car 2. Longer braking distance required. I also had a white warning ESP failure and the ABS light is on. Prior to this the brakes were perfect.
My car went in for a new SBC pump about 4 months ago and since then all I've had is a set of rear brake pads and the brakes have been good.
I was going to nurse it home but it wouldn't come out of park so I phoned the AA. The guy turned up and firstly checked all the fuses. He then managed to get it out of park by doing it with the engine off and drove it round the car park. He came back and said it needs to go to the dealer.
I drove it with him following and the car wouldn't go above second gear and 2200 revs and the braking was minimal, just a little bit of brakes before the pedal bottomed , made it ok to the Sytners and that's where it is. They tell me they can't even look at it till Tuesday and now my head is spinning wondering what it could be :(
