Lifting and removing 270 CDI engine block only

Hello

I have finally obtained a good 270 CDI bottom end and am in the process of building up a replacement unit. As part of my investigations into the cause of the cars issue I have removed the cylinder head and anciliaries etc and all that remains is the engine block.

Can anyone suggest where I might attach a hoist to lift just the block out or will I need to replace the head and refit the lifting eyes in order to lift it out of the engine compartment?

(If any of you have followed an earlier thread of mine regarding a shattered piston due to a swirl flap you'll understand why I'm doing this and asking this question!)
