Lucky!

Just opened the washing machine door at end of cycle (the good lady is away) to see the key for my C class fall onto the floor. Popped the battery out and gave it a good shake - couple of drops of water, not too bad... Quick dab off with some kitchen towel and pop out to the car...

Still works!!! Phew!!
