C180 AMG Transmission Issues!

Hello Peeps, my first time posting so apologies if it all comes out garbled!

We've owned our C180 AMG (think it's 2009 or 2010) for about 6 months now and - despite having gone back to the garage we purchased it from for almost 6 weeks - we're still stuck with a very annoying quirk!

When driving along, say around 30-40mph, it doesn't seem to change into a lower gear quick enough when you encounter a gradiant of any kind - that's to say you lose power first and slow down before it changes. In addition the underneath of the car begins to rattle (as a manual would if you were driving it too slowly in the wrong gear), but once changed it roars back into life and carries on it's way.

It also plays this trick sometimes when in queuing traffic - even in 1st gear it seems to reduce the revs from 1,000 to around 500 (causing it to shudder again) before the power comes from the engine.

I must point out that it's never stalled but surely this cannot be the usual build quality of their 5 speed automatic transmission? It's terrible!

On the advice of Manchester New Road (where the car was bought from) we have left it with Mercedes Skipton today to see what, if anything, they can obtain from it's performace.

I suppose I just wanted to put it out here to see if anyone else has encountered a similar problem and what I would be able to fire back at the garage if we get a diagnosis that everything is a-ok with the car.

Thanks Guys (oh, it's a petrol engine by the way - if that makes any difference)

Gareth
