Sorry to ask, hoping some active mechanics or maybe owners can tell me a little about these cars before I go off trawling through unknown forums.
My bro has just bought one, a non runner and is hoping I can fix it for him :rolleyes: A little 1.2 , 03 plate.
Its cheap enough to not worry about a few bits, but i did manage to take the rocker cover off before freezing completely to see how bad it was.
And yes its bad. The twin cam's are loose. There is so much slack in the timing chain both cams can be rotated. And have :Oops:
The question is how much damage?
But I just cannot believe a timing chain can just stretch that much. Do they have any parts like a tensioner that fails?
Its such a tiny cramped engine, I just want to unbolt it and put a real one in there. :shock:
