My car wouldnt start on Saturday. battery voltage was 9.2v. Had a jump from my son and made my way to MB Bromley. I tried calling them but parts was perm engaged so I popped into KwikFit as that was on the way.
They used a Bosch battery tester and the printout showed 51% charge and 41% starting capacity. I asked a few times if these figures could be confused due to the battery having been discharged to 9v and driven for just 2 miles since starting.
They assured me the battery had a fault. The battery they took out was just an 88amp as I had no choice but to get that when the original 110amp gave up in the middle of nowhere. This was just four years ago. KwickFit have fitted a 100amp battery for £156, with a lifetime warranty.
Opinions?
