Got into my CLS and drove down the road to my dismay the car was all over the road when driving over an agreeably poor c road surface. Thought it was just my imagination at first as I had not hit anything which I could remember causing any concern on the previous or current outing. Drove for about 2 miles and stopped the car and had a look, saw the O/S wheel was nearly touching the wheel arch. Turned around and parked up at home.
Fortunately I have a great friend who lives within a stones throw who owns a large garage about 20+ miles away. I called him along to get a second opinion, I jacked the car up and discovered the coil spring had snapped in two. My mate phoned up the garage and about an hour later my car was picked up and taken to the garage. The next day 270213 at around 5PM my car was delivered to my door by my mates son. Now that's service! Total bill was £259.80 and the springs were genuine Merc stock.
While £259.80 is a hell of a smack in the teeth I am sure it could have been a lot worse if I had to go to a Merc dealer for the same job.
