1999 clk convertible rear headrests

hi guys just got a 1999 clk convertible the guy said the roof works but the headrests wont go down ! i have lookes through the posts on here but still no joy ! i have taken the rear seat back rest off to find 2 wires with bare spade connectors (grey & grey with a red stripe) that have been trapped somewhere which leads me to believe that the back has been off before also there is a puddle of oil under the rear seat which looks to have come from a little valve block ? any help would be great
