Hello/ Bonjour,
History=1970 220D >1984 300D>current 1989 190 2.0 sportline+1996 w124 E320 sportline estate,
variously corrupted by Volvo 121,122,123,133,240,245,1960's-80's for dirty building work!
I have long enjoyed reading this club forum, and wife and me love our old mercs. as much as our old stones! Our general travels and home towns (wife French) have been West country GB./ Med-Nimes,Montpellier,FR.A glorious 1000km commute for the 190 or 320.
Returning recently to wife's Breton roots and restoring a beautiful 1750 farmhouse to a bare shell Artist's loft (I draw,she paints) 30 minutes south of St.Malo, just by Dinan, where she grew up and went to school.
SO WHERE'S THE BEEF?
Well, the local French/rom/pikey robbers decided the 320 did not need it's wheels! and left her high and dry on well cut blocks in our french garden, ok, life happens ,thanks Rob Parker for wheel suggestons , found a set of period alloys to match but they are 61/2J not 7J and they foul the calipers!!! Oh the research of aesthetics over practicality,is it the offset?long nuts? spacers?
So, dear new found friends of MBOF, does any one have a bright solution? like today - as major earthworks and landscaping have had to go on around my poor beached merc,......frends, romans, countrymen ,lend me your wheels so I can get the car to a safe resting place until it takes on it's next life as an organic wine merchants dray! Bringing essential lifeblood to English arteries
Any suggestions welcome - mail/contact me and I send belle photos of the poor beautiful car.
Any suggestions for where I post in the site to solve this countdown conundrum(nice orange dress today) or to find a real merc collectioneer who may like to take over this englsh/french pair (190 lhd-320rhd) as I have to concentrate on selling the house (135ke) One way or the other......
Look forwards to hearing
