I am planning on getting all 4 of my alloys refurbed as they have lacquer peel and could do with a tidy up. They are 19" amg's and have a diamond cut finish. I have been recommended a company by a friend of mine who has had a lot of work done by them. I have been in touch and said I would like the wheels to look as they would have done when the wheels where new.
He suggested I go with a polished finish, as diamond cutting is a more expensive process £120 a wheel and it takes quite a bit of metal off the wheel in the process and that they are more prone to lacquer peel and require more maintenance. Polished will be brighter than diamond cut and will be £240 plus £100 to have the whole wheel then powder coat lacquered... to protect the finish.
My only worry is that if I go with the polished finish I don't want my wheels coming out like mirrors and all bling because this is not the finish I am after. Could any of you recommend what finish is best? Have any of you out there got any before and after pics of polished/diamond cut wheels. Thanks.
