Warranty Direct Refusal

Took the SL for an A service this morning and the garage reports states:
O/s track rod end and tie rod worn.
O/s/f Shock leaking
O/s/r Lower swivel worn.

So I tell them, I'll contact Warranty Direct as the car's covered for wear and tear items.

Called the claims dept and I'm told the suspension isn't covered but the track rod end and tie rod are. But I have an email, from the sales dept., that says suspension is covered. I then copy the email to the claims dept. which starts:

It is not my place to tell you what other companies do and don’t cover but please use these questions as a guide to help you understand the underlying terms and conditions that are not always made obvious.

We are the only company that offer all these benefits as standard.

Do they cover worn out parts and wear & tear?

- This is when a part comes to the end of its natural life due to every day mileage. 67% of our claims are down to wear and tear (imagine how many a company who excludes wear and tear will be turning down). A good example would be your shock absorbers failing …..”sorry your shock absorbers haven’t actually broken they have simply worn out”. You will have to pay for this.

Claims dept calls back and says your policy doesn't cover suspension parts.

But that email implies it does and that's what swayed me to take the cover.

But your policy doesn't cover suspensio......... and so the conversation circled in a loop. With the odd but this is very misleading as the email implies and specifically states that suspension IS covered. Your sales rep. told me so.

It may sound like that but that's only an example. In your case it's actually NOT covered!

My option, apparently is to complain to the complaints dept.

The policy document, under suspension items states: Wheel bearings and that's it!
