A quick mod I have been working on.
I bought some LED tails from Germany, but I wasnt happy that they directly emulated the original incandescent bulbs, IE the right and left section illuminates as tail lights, then only the right hand side lights up when braking.
I thought they missed a trick there, so I re-wired them so that the whole lot illuminates dimly when driving, then brightly when braking. I also added some LED indicator boards on some trimmed down protoboards.

There is a bright strip down the middle becuase I started replacing the LED's with brighter ones, but thought it didnt need it. They are easily replaced in the future if I can be bothered.

The large resistor is to emulate the load of the indicator bulb, the led brake lights come with a resistor for them:
