Sorry I am back to this topic again but in the light that nobody has volunteered to repair my faulty heating in my CLK500 at a reasonable cost (in fact at any cost) I'm about to attempt it myself.
What I would like to know from all of you knowledgeable Mercedes owners and mechanics is....... what is the part number of the plastic levers that attach to the heater vent motor and actually move the flaps. The motor number is A2038201642 but I can't see anywhere that mentions the levers. I have seen a post somewhere that shows a set of the levers in a plastic bag with the OEM label but I can't find it anymore. If you do know what I am talking about do you know where I can buy the parts. I expect my local Mercedes dealer would sell them at the usual stealership prices.
