Hi with it being a nice sunny day i decided to put top down for a spring clean,to my suprise after liffting the switch the top didn`t open only a bing and flashing red lights on switch,also on dash was mesage "close boot seperator"and a symbol of a car with arrow pointing in boot,i treid opening and shutting seperator a few times but still no joy so i checked micro switch connector and was found to be coroded after cleaning and a squirt of WD i refixed and tried again still didn`t work,so i looked at the micro switch itself and to my opinion dosn`t seem to be working,when looking into the recess were the round plastic dowel of the seperator clips you can see the green micro switch and it dosn`t seem to be switching,does the switch make or break conntact to operate.
I must say that the SRS light is on caused by suspected seat belt retractor but not sure because the mechanic said the star machine was not working so he connected a portable one to the car but im not satisfied with the results so im going to have it done again this time with star. i dont know if this would effect the top operation,any opinions very welcome,thanks in advance.
