I have just helped my dad pick up a 2004 CLK55 AMG, lovely lovely car, for just shy of 5k. Now it has some problems.
Mainly, according to the seller, the engine has become tappity over the last 1000 miles. When we looked at it it was cold and only did it at idle, when revved it would qiuet down, then after idling for 20 seconds or so it would slowly return.
It also has a slight misfire, but on cylinder 8, the tapping is from cylinder 1.
The seller says its had an oil change, but im not convinced, so we will get that done straight away, here a quick video of the noise:
