Hi guys,
Im new to the forum and just browsing all seem super friendly. Just a bit of background on me first.. i bought a 2003 SL 55 about a year ago and its been just incredible. a ridic driving experience as im sure most who have been in one would also agree! When i bought the car i had a car park spot under the flat i shared so never exposed to the elements.
I have just moved flats, this time with no underground car park spot. With the recent heavy rain, i have noticed the roof leaking water both into the boot and behind both seats in the cabin. By the sound of things its a common problem on the SL of this era. In the boot, both of the flaps on the roof lid cover are wet. The water drips down from a small drip tray created where the seals attached to the body of the car meet the seals attached to the rear windscreen.
The water behind each seat i have no idea about. The water must be leaking through from the top of the c-pillar, dripping down by the seat belt and onto the carpet on both sides.
All the seals look to be in good shape so when mercedes talk about 3 grand to replace the seals it seem nuts.
Does anybody have any ideas on the best route of action here pls? Would be massively appreciated!!
Thanks :p
