New member arriving with advice needed of course!
Have just carried out a full service including V belt and new shocks on my Hymer Motorhome which is based on the 312D sprinter 5 cylinder with the auto box (not the sprint shift) It's a beautiful engine. There are no known faults on the gearbox but I want to change the oil and filter as I will be doing extensive European travelling and would like to prolong the life of the auto box.
I've delved into some other posts here before joining and it seems that the ATF is drained through a 5mm sump plug and the refill is done through the dip stick. I'm happy to do that.
What I cannot find however is any info on the gearbox filter and the kind of job it is (gaskets etc)
Can anyone help with advice on the filter change and then quantity of oil to refill. What quality of ATF fluid is required?
