The W208 may be going :(

Ok, so the time may have come to part with the W208 :(

Some of you may be familiar with what I did to her and how much I love her, but, when I got the 55 she went around my parents to live there for a bit.

My dad decided he wanted her as he fell in love with the car, being retired he wanted something to spend time polishing and have as a toy. So we changed the log book to him so he could insure it fully comp in his name and he spent time cleaning everything underneath and re-sealing.

Other than that the car has ended up being just cleaned and sat on my parents drive unused and covered for the past few months with only being started and warmed up occasionally when cleaned. The reason for this is my parents have had their house for sale for a while, but it actually sold shortly after I signed the 320 over to them, so they have been focusing on finding a new property and clearing down the house.

Ultimately, they have found somewhere and settled on downsizing to a retirment property and they are only allowed one car parked on the plot (aparantly for safety and fire regulations). They are keeping their main car as it is far more practical for them with their dog and other things that they do.

My father doesn't want to get rid of her, and asked if I would like her back, but honestly I don't have time for another car right now. I've not even been spending much time on the forum as I've got lots on at home and at work. Add to that I have plans for the 55 I just don't have time to use and look after another car right now.

So sadly the result of this situation is that she may be going. We aren't actually going to advertise just put the word out through word of mouth to people we know will look after her, so if you know anyone who may be interested in taking good care of a very well sorted clk 320 cab, then by all means drop me a line and they are free to pop round and have a chat about it.

I'm not sure what we will realistically get, I mean, I looked at quite a few at the end of last year and this was by far the best.

She is a 2000 avantagarde, 89k metalic blue, FMBSH (up to my service that I put in the book and parts replaced, all documented). She has zero rust, an imaculate roof and a very good interior. All electrics work as they should. We've done quite a bit to get her completely up together. She's had a new genuine Bosch MAF, a new TPS, had 12 plugs changed out with premium platinum NGK's, fully synth oil put in and new filter, had the stereo re-wired and speakers replaced, new seat motor, genuine 18" SL Aviors which I sourced (which aren't cheap) with very good tyres all round, arches all cleaned out and waxoyld, new brake fluid, brakes all cleaned up and callipers painted, new locking nut and bolts replaced, re-sealed the common leaky rocker cover, cleaned up the manifold, underside has all been cleaned and re-sealed / painted, genuine MB windbreaker and cover also sourced at additional expense and is sat in the boot, roof cleaned and re-protected with autoglym, paint sealed etc. There's probably a ton more as well.

She runs spot on, the only job we haven't got around to is removing the secondary cats, the car runs fine, but just a subtle rumble on tickover sometimes from the centre of them (had a quote from bells for £120.00 to remove before she went around my dads).

I've added it all up, the car in total since Nov to get it all up together and looking as we wanted has cost 4795, 5k including the windbreaker which will come with the car.

I'm hoping it's worth at least 4k? It has 6 months tax and will put a years MOT on if a deal is made.

If we let her go, it will only go to someone who shows a keen interest in these cars and will really look after her, no boy racers. I'd like to keep in touch with the new owner and perhaps have the chance to buy her back later on if my situation changes and the chance comes up.

Anyway, below is a piccy of her.

Comments and opinions appreciated, I hope all your 208's are going well :)

Cheers,
