Sl500 what to look for

Hi all

Just after some pointers, the old man is about to get an 04 sl500 and was after some advice on things to look out for, generally appears well looked after 44k on the clock, fairly decent spec, recent A service, a few stone chips on the bonnet and x2 small scratches that should polish out. Looks as if barely any wear on the brakes (disk or pads) or the tyres so presume replaced at some point.
Also does it have a jack for an ipod or would one have to go down the Dension route to get ipod integration?
