This question refers to a Mercedes Sprinter 316 Chassis Ref WDB903 2700cc engine first registered in late 2003.
Is this vehicle OBD II compliant?
I use a an OBD Link SX scan tool from ScanTool.net. It has the normal 16 pin diagnostic pin set that plugs into the vehicle's socket. This works OK on my newer vehicles. However, the Sprinter has a circular 14 pin socket. I have sent for an adaptor to connect the ScanTool to the Sprinter. However, I am unsure if the software will work as I do not know if the Sprinter is compliant. I think it would have been compliant as a US vehicle, but I think the EU did not require compliance for diesel engines until 2004. Therefore, it might not display the generic codes.
Does anyone know the answer?
