First post and looking for information..

First of all, Hello everybody..

This is my first post on the forum. After many years of BMW ownership, I am considering moving over to the dark side to purchase a W211 E Class...

Now, I have a budget of about £5-£5.5k and am looking for as late a model as possible. Will more than likely be looking at a diesel. Can anyone advise which is the best model to go for?? Are the diesel units pretty reliable and what sort of things should I be looking for??

Are the petrol models more reliable and a better purchase and has anyone had experience of the E500???
