The bushes have failed on the selector rod, between the tunnel mounted gear selector and the gearbox. I have removed the rod, and await delivery of 2 new bushes. It is not clear how the bushes remain in place in the rod ....the one at the gearbox had fallen out a year ago, and I superglued it back in place, and it is still good.
Any tips on replacing them, and ensuring they remain in position?
Also, how long should they last....I am presuming mine where original with <40k miles.
