Hi chaps!
An odd thing happened this morning. Turned the key, car started on the first crank, ran for about 5 seconds and STALLED !
Pulled the key, turned and it cranked away with no sign of starting.. Went away, swore a bit (sorry mum) went back, turned it over again, with a tickle of the throttle pedal and it started. It never missed a beat for the rest of the day.
I've been reading stories of air in the fuel lines due to wear of the front mounted fuel pump. Does this symptom indicate a knackered HP fuel pump? I had done a long motorway journey the day before if that makes any difference.
The old girl is now at 170,000 but still returning 55mpg on a motorway run (amazed).
Any suggestions welcomed.
Thanks all
