w220 headlamp washers

Hello

Never rains but it pours!

Just had alternator replaced and now the headlamp washers are leaking water, have filled washer tank and watched it drain - seemingly on both sides of car but guess this may be distorted by the plastic tray under the engine.

Have blocked off the pump to headlights and leak stopped so must be after the pump.

I have pulled out both washer jets and the near side expelled a lot of water and the off side was dry, I assume this is significant, there also appears to be a degree of "gunk" built up around the join between the "spray jets" and the main body located in bumper. Suggests the possibility of a leak here however I believe it is unlikely to be sufficient to drain washer tank at the rate it did.

So I assume there must be a connector off one or both jets within the bumper - is there any way of checking this without removing bumper, is there a y splitter to ensure coverage on both sides - can the lower grill be easily removed to get at the base of the washers?

Any help most welcome.
