Driving in France today, in the heavy rain. W211 2005 E280CDi Avantgarde Estate, 88k miles. Has been running beautifully, but pulling out of the Channel Tunnel Shuttle my wife first noticed power loss (no kick down) then the yellow engine management light went on. Smooth power delivery, but slower than normal - I guess it's in limp mode.
It doesn't reset after having turned off and left; everything else, including all the dials, are ok. Before I take her in for a diagnostic check (nearest is MB Lille, but really want to take her back to MBS for the Cole & Dave treatment) does anyone have any ideas?
