Sports Pack suspension parts

Hi all, It`s come the time when i need to replace some suspension arms on my 2006 C220cdi Avantguard, it is listed as having the Sports Pack with this option (OPTION 486=Sports suspension).

I`m wondering if the control arms etc are all the same throughout the range or do the versions with sports suspension have different lengths etc?

Help needed badly!

Hi guys. Im new here so hello! I get the feeling I may be a regular here after purchasing a 96 slk compressor that has been off the road for 5 years. Reason it was taken off the road was for a gearbox fault. I took the pan off and found lots of metal and bearings in the bottom! I have replaced the gearbox. I got my friend to plug it in today but it wouldn't communicate with the reader. The car will not turn over either, so I assume it needs codes clearing from the dodgy old gearbox, hence not turning over? Took ecu plugs off and one of the pins had corroded and broken. I just need one pin replacing so wheres best? Or does anyone know where I can get one to replace it myself?
Failing that, there is all the bits on ebay, ecu, immobiliser, transponder etc but its from a slightly later car and the ecu numbers are slightly different. Would it communicate with the rest of the car or should I steer clear? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Engine woes - erratic idle and stall

Hi,

I need the advice of you experts on here! My car is 2011 C-Class coupe C250 2.2 CDI. OM651 engine.

Here's what's happened.

I started the car one morning and the idle was very erratic, before eventually the engine stalled. Didn't get off the drive. 30 mins later it started and ran fine all day. Now, the exact same thing happened about 10 months ago but it's been fine for the last 10 months, all through winter up until now!

I took it to mercedes to put it on their machine and they came back with these error codes.( P200A75 was the error code when it happened 10 months ago also)

P200A75 "The charge movement flap (cylinder bank 1) has a malfunction. The emergency position was not reached".

P040100 "The flow in the exhaust gas re circulation (cylinder bank 1) is too low."


I've been quoted £700 just to open up the engine and look at the intake manifold and flaps. That's before parts and assuming they'll find anything wrong.

I was wondering if you guys have any other advice or things to try before opening up my wallet.

hello all,

i have a mercedes ML 320 cdi, recently had a part changed can't remember what its called it selects the gears! as it wasn't coming out of parked, anyway cars been great since but last few days the car has had a "jerking motion" if you like? basically when applying the accelerator when joining the motorway or when speed is needed the car jerks and won't go fast as if its stuck in a high gear, i then have to pull over out in park then turn car off then turn back on then the problem has gone, started happening more so over last 2 days? any one know what it could be

I'd like to preface this by saying that about one year ago I've done the following:
Replaced all fuel line o-rings (green ones from MB)
Fixed one injector with high leak-off
Replaced the fuel line from filter to low-pressure pump
Replaced fuel filter

Two years ago the previous owner changed the seals in the high-pressure pump
About a couple of months ago I've changed the seals on the injector return nipples.

What the car does is this: it starts perfectly, idles for a few seconds then dies. And it takes a very long crank to start back again. Then it will run normally and won't do it until it sits longer than 24 hrs. It only manifested like this three times ever, as it's used daily and doesn't usually stay off longer than 24 hrs.
One time, the next day after shutting off, after starting the idle dropped briefly about 200 rpm when idling, then everything was normal.
No error codes, no visible fuel leaks and no other symptoms (loss of power/cutting out)

I've read that the o-rings in the fuel pressure regulator might dry off and cause problems

Having been unsuccessful on ejecting the cd cartridge in the boot,SWMBO is talking about changing the head unit to one which has USB and AUX-IN on the front panel. Has anybody changed this for a decent sounding one?.It needs to have CD/USB/AUX-IN/FM. Doesn't seem worth buying used as one can be purchased new for under £70. She want's to keep the steering wheel controls as well. Any recommendations please?.

I have been meaning to get this up on the forum for a long time! We completed three Identical C63 AMG's all blacked out and very menacing!!!

The three gentlemen came to us for full Stage 2 tuning packages for there C63 AMG's so we got to work stripping all three vehicles down for full iPE manifold back decat exhausts and performance air filters coupled with our Stage 2 GAD550 tuning software with Vmax release.




















I will have more pictures and videos up shortly and see these things flaming like a trooper ;)

2008 Vito 115cdi Automatic Transmission problem

Guys, I'm new to the forum, so a big Hi..any help with the following problem would be appreciated.
The vehicle is a 2008 Dual Liner having done a modest 162,000 miles.
I recently fitted a used rear differential obtained from a breaker, which cured the pinion bearing whine.
However, the vehicle is now stuck in the 'get you home mode' (as advised by local main dealer), it will only change up to 3rd gear and then will rev to the limit. It also has an intermittent fault with with reverse and the tip change. sometimes, you can put it into reverse, but you have to wait awhile for it to engage.
The local main dealer has had a go at it and ruled out the stick change controller and the middle controller (it seems that the third is in the box itself),... he also changed the gear oil and filter (not cheap !) on the basis that this might cure it..which it didn't, and would now like to sell me a new box and torque converter £££ !. The box is mechanically fine though.
Is this likely to be the speed sensors ? I've read that on another thread.
Basically, any help would be greatly appreciated...Thanks

Well, after spending over £3K fixing my suspension, my SL has decided that it doesn't like working perfectly and that I should spend some more money on it.

On the way home last night, all manner of warnings came up on the dash:
ABS - Defective! Visit Workshop!
ESP - Defective! Visit Workshop!
BAS - Defective! Visit Workshop!
((!)) - Service Brake Visit Workshop

The red ABS light in the rev counter is also on.

Any idea what this could be? I was driving along at about 30mph in a straight line when these came on.

I'm thinking something like a wheel sensor, given the number of warnings?
Anyone have any ideas, suggestions? I'm hoping that it is not really the service brake. Car is a 2002 SL500 R230 just under 70K on the clock.

For info, on the way to work this morning, no error messages at all, everything working fine... Grrrrrr!

Hi all,
Is there anybody out there who knows if the wiper motor on a LHD W164 is the same as on a RHD car?
I appreciate all the linkage would be different but wondered if the motor is the same.
Any ideas, as always, greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi

I am hoping someone can help before I hit a big bill.

(2001) 200 CLK Kompressor

Drove car to do an airport pick up in heavy rain (not sure if that may be a factor)
When I came out of airport a short time later and tried to start car all I got was a click which the mechanic and AA man that attended both suggested was a dead starter motor. They both banged it to no avail and the car was recovered to a garage who fitted 2 new starter motors but the problem remains.

In all other ways the car is going great and it's not the battery.

Mechanic suggests the next step is a diagnostic by a spark.

Has anyone encountered this issue before and have any tips?
I need my car back on the road asap.

Hello folks; after owning Jaguar saloons - mainly V8s for a decade I have bought my first Merc an 02 C180 Kompressor Coupe.
I wanted a change from Jags though I still have an XJ8 saloon, a former boss had a C Coupe convertible and I always admired the car. When a nearby dealer had a lovely immaculate black Coupe with a long MOT at a good price I went and had a butchers, we made a deal so I'm collecting the car tomorrow.
(I've got that blokes in their 50s buying sports car thing going on)

I know zero about Mercs so I will no doubt be picking your brains :cool:

Does anyone know if on a w203 if any pin on the OBD plug is ignition? and if so where does it come from? engine ECU?

On mercedes is the ignition pin usually pin 8?

This is on behalf of a friend.
Around 18 months ago he purchased what seemed to be a nice year 2000 CL but it has turned out to be a complete money pit. He's literally spent thousands on it including the rear module (can't remember the proper name right now), colling fan / bearing, reluctor rings. The list is almost endless and mechanically it's quite good now actually. However, the underbody is a complete disgrace to the marque. It has recently been to a body shop and they've identified numerous places where the underbody is so rotten that the carpet can be seen from underneath the car. Not only that, the local Merc indy has advised him that it's so bad that he ought to get rid asap.
He's been quoted between £500 and £1500 to strip the seats out, carpets etc. and to have the underneath repaired. He's not keen on this (neither am I) because afterwards there will likely be all manner of problems with fit and finish and possibly electrical problems too (electric seats, any modules on the floor etc.). We've spoken about getting rid of asap, being honest and maybe offering as spares or repair. It still has about 4 or 5 months mot.
Does anyone have any idea how much the car is likely to sell for in this state ?
Seems a complete disgrace to me for what was originally a £80k (ish) car.
