Hope someone may be able to help me with this!
I've recently bought my first Mercedes, a 2004 C180 K petrol auto.
65,000 miles... FSH
Has just come out of a specialist garage (supposedly) where it had a ballpoint, suspension arm, camshaft carrier oil leak and gear box multiplug leak repaired.
I noticed immediately that on startup, that the engine was chugging aggressively whilst idle and in ALL auto gears PRND, so much so that it was almost shaking me inside. I initially put it down to being a cold, rainy British morning and the car being sat for nearly 24 hours in that weather, waiting for me to collect it. I fully opened it up down the long stretch of road by the garage, it felt like it was going to stall as I pulled away but once it got going it was fine, so I proceeded to drive it home where I had no issues, no choking, chugging, misfiring of anything.
An hour later I go out to my drive to move the car, it starts fine but I notice when walking back there is a suspicious looking fluid right underneath where the car was sat, that has started trickling down the drive.... The only thing that makes me question if its oil or not, is that it didn't have that weird 'rainbow'/'pearlescent' look to it and seemed clear when I rubbed my fingers through the puddle but it was noticeably NOT rain water, it stood out against the already wet floor. I can't smell any burning or anything so again, quite confused.
I've just gone out to start it up again, lo and behold its started aggressively chugging again, I reversed it back and sure enough there is signs of this mysterious looking fluid on the floor... No where near as much as last time but enough for me to notice.
I'm no petrol head, but was wondering if any of you maybe able to shed some light on this or confirm if you too have had this issue?
Many Thanks,
Jack
